Honeycomb activated carbon is an excellent adsorbent, with many raw materials such as charcoal, bamboo charcoal, fruit shells, coal, etc. In the production process of honeycomb activated carbon, raw materials are crushed, screened, activated, rinsed, and dried through chemical and physical methods. It also has two characteristics: physical adsorption and chemical adsorption. It has strong adsorption effects on various substances in liquids and gases, and can achieve decolorization, disinfection, deodorization, and decontamination effects.
So, what is the honeycomb activated carbon regeneration method? How much do you know about the regeneration method of honeycomb activated carbon?
Firstly, let's take a look at how columnar activated carbon is adsorbed:
1. Honeycomb activated carbon depends on its own pore structure. The composition of columnar activated carbon is not entirely composed of carbon elements, including small amounts of hydrogen, nitrogen, oxygen, and ash content, but its structure is a hexagram formed by carbon elements. However, due to the irregular arrangement of hexagrams, the columnar carbon has many micropores and a large surface area, and its adsorption principle is the intermolecular adsorption force. The interactions between molecules have mutual attraction. When a molecule is sucked into the pores of columnar activated carbon, the mutual attraction between molecules will erupt, and more molecules will be attracted in until the columnar activated carbon is filled and the adsorption process is completed.
2. Desorption of honeycomb activated carbon. Generally speaking, the desorption of activated carbon depends on the adsorption situation. Physical adsorption is reversible, which means that the properties of activated carbon will not change after the adsorbed molecules desorb, while chemical adsorption requires activated carbon to be activated before desorption, and the adsorbed molecules will change.
3. Introduction to desorption and regeneration methods of honeycomb activated carbon
Heating desorption: The adsorption capacity of honeycomb activated carbon decreases with increasing temperature. When the temperature of honeycomb activated carbon rapidly increases, the adsorbed substances will desorb.
Decompression desorption: The adsorption capacity of honeycomb activated carbon increases with the increase of pressure. If the pressure is increased during the adsorption process and then decreased or the activated carbon is in a vacuum state, the columnar activated carbon can be regenerated.
Rinse and adsorb: Rinse the honeycomb activated carbon with gas or liquid that will not be adsorbed, and the adsorbed substance will be desorbed.
Magnetized activated carbon: Honeycomb activated carbon itself is not polar, it becomes polar only after processing. The use of polar and easily adsorbable solutions can successfully desorb.
With the increasing emphasis on environmental protection in our country, there are many places that use activated carbon. Enterprises can use carbon for adsorption or desorption, allowing activated carbon to continue working after regeneration, thereby saving energy and protecting the environment.
According to the different raw materials, honeycomb activated carbon can be divided into two types: wooden columnar activated carbon and honeycomb activated carbon. The performance testing methods for columnar activated carbon include physical performance testing, adsorption performance testing, and chemical performance testing.
